WLMA BOARD LEADER AWARDS

The association awards are made to members or others who have contributed in specified ways to the association.

Emeritus awards are given to recent retirees who have contributed extensively to the Washington Library Media Association in leadership roles, and meet at least six of the 12 criteria of the award.

WLMA Leadership Grants - Four $1500 leadership development scholarships are available to leaders in WLMA. The scholarship is available to help defray costs of attending a national WLMA-affiliated library media organization conference. Deadline for this award is March 1. This award application is given to the WLMA president rather than the scholarship or awards committees.

Qualifications:

1. You have been a WLMA full board member for one of the past two years.
2. You have not previously been in the presidental track in the past, nor are now.
3. You have demonstrated outstanding state service and potential future leadership in the state level of WLMA.
4. You are encouraged to travel with and coordinate activities on the trip with other winners.
5. You will present a concurrent session/panel at the fall WLMA conference with other scholarship winners, and will write an article for the MEDIUM about one of the sessions you attended at the national conference.

President's Award - Given by the WLMA president to someone of special merit, usually at Fall Conference.
