SCHOOL LIBRARY STANDARDS

Print    Email

National Standards

  • AASL Standards for the 21st Century Learner
Standards for the 21st-Century Learner offer vision for teaching and learning to both guide and beckon our profession as education leaders. They will both shape the library program and serve as a tool for library media specialists to use to shape the learning of students in the school.

  • National Educational Technology Standards
ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) - ISTE's National Educational Technology Standards NETS have served as a roadmap for improved teaching and learning by educators throughout the United States. The standards, used in every U.S. state and many countries, are credited with significantly influencing expectations for students and creating a target of excellence relating to technology. In 2006, ISTE began work on the next generation of NETS for Students, which focuses more on skills and expertise and less on tools.

  • ALA: The Nine Information Literacy Standards for Student Learning
